Sir Julius Vogel Award Finalist x3!

Thank you!

The finalists for the Sir Julius Vogel Awards 2022 were announced today and I am so honoured to be a finalist in three categories alongside so many wonderful writers and friends. As a thank you to everyone who nominated, I’ve made an urban fantasy short story available for free to my newsletter subscribers. You can sign up and claim it now.

I am particularly proud because this is the fourth year running that I’ve been a finalist in the short story category. I’m not publishing so many shorts now that I’m focussing on writing my series, but I love my finalist epistolary creepy climate fiction story ‘Data Migration’, published by Strange Horizons last year.

My other finalist works are my (sub)urban fantasy Against the Grain about coeliac mountain biking witch Trinity and her snarky shapeshifting demon familiar, and my debut short story collection Alt-ernate.

Congratulations to all the finalists and everyone long-listed! And a huge thank you to SFFANZ for administering and to everyone who put in a nomination. The members of SFFANZ will vote on the winners. It costs $10 to be a member and the voting packet often includes free copies of most of the finalists. So definitely join up if you’re interested! Also, the money supports the supply of those beautiful scarily pointy tropheys.
